Brunching Babes Weekend HIT LIST: Spotlight on LATIN BRUNCHES

Latin cuisine has become very popular in the brunch scene. These two lovely Latina babes have compiled a list of some of our fave Latin brunches in NYC. Delicious Latin dishes paired with refreshing drinks will take you on a magic ride to any Caribbean island.

Here are our picks:

1) Calle Ocho:
Address: 446 Columbus Ave (btw 81st & 82nd)


Vaca Frita
We must confess that Calle Ocho was the 1st place that we ever had brunch and has always been one of the babes ultimate faves when it comes to brunching. Offering brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, Calle Ocho is one of the most popular Cuban brunch spots in NYC. Is it the food or is it the bottomless sangrias? (Is this is a trick question?) Yes, Calle Ocho offers unlimited sangria with 8 different flavors to choose from ranging from Rojo, Havana Banana, Tropical, Spanish Harlem, Mojito, Blanco and Fresas. The brunch menu offers delicious entrees ranging from Pollo Ranchero, Vaca Frita (babes fave), Quesadillas, omelets, and one of the babes faves, the burrito sucio. Perfect setting for brunching with friends, family or even a hot date. Make some reservations in advance or sneak into an empty seat at the bar and enjoy!


2) Don Pedro's:
Address: 1865 2nd Ave (btw 96th St & 97th St)



If you are in the Upper East Side, you've got to try Don Pedro's! They offer a 3 course brunch meal for $19.95 per person with bottomless sangria. This is a deal you cannot refuse! For appetizers you have options such as home style chicken soup, chicken/cheese/beef turnovers, lentil soup, Cuban style black bean soup and salads. For entrees you have amazing options ranging from smoked salmon omelets, eggplant frittata, Tres Golpes (traditional Dominican breakfast that includes fried eggs, tropical cheeses, mashed plantains and spanish sausage), Traditional Spanish omelets, Cuban Style shredded beef, skirt steak with eggs and more! And lets not forget dessert! They offer tres leche, sorbet or flan. Wow is your mouth watering yet?


3) Yuca Bar:
Address: 111 Avenue A

Located in the heart of the East Village, Yuca Bar offers pan-Latin cuisine and a great brunch deal! You can get Yuca Eggs Benedict, Crab Cake Eggs Benedict (pictured above), Arepas Benedict, huevos rancheros, cuban sandwiches, omelets, and more for less than $15. Your brunch entree comes with 2 free drinks and you have the option of sangrias, bloody marys and screwdrivers. With a fun atmosphere this place is great for a good time with with friends. They also have alfresco dining!


4) Agozar:
Address: 324 bowery (btw Bleecker and Bond St) 



Located in Bowery close to NYU this Cuban restaurant offers some yummy brunch options. With brunch dishes such as eggs with chorizo, pancakes, huevos rancheros, eggs benedicts, cuban salads, and more they offer complimentary sangria or bloody mary. Their brunch menu also offers tapas with savory options such as plantain chips w/ beans and hummus, black bean dumplings, spanish chorizo, meatballs and quesadillas. So head over to AGOZAR! and "enjoy yourself".

5) Bogota Latin Bistro:
Address: 141 5th Ave (btw Lincoln Pl & St. John's Pl)in Park Slope


Located in Park Slope (Brooklyn) Bogota Latin Bistro offers brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 11am-3:45pm.  This rich Latin inspired menu offers, Dominican, Mexican, Columbian and Caribbean dishes. What better way to celebrate then to pair your meals with their delicious mimosas that come in different flavors (mango, passion fruit, guava or orange) and can be served in pitchers for only $25. They also offer some healthy dishes for those watching their waste line. This place sounds like a fiesta and the babes can't wait to try!
